About sarah

Sarah Klein, M.A., LPC, Art Therapist
I hold a Master's of Art in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Art Therapy from Naropa University. I came to the art therapy world through exploration of my first career in documentary filmmaking, where I learned the therapeutic power of telling personal narrative through images.
I had received my bachelor's in Documentary Film Production and Religious Studies from Northwestern University in 2010, and spent three years working in the documentary film world. After interacting with amazingly resilient individuals through the documentary interview process, I decided to pursue a field where I could help individuals in a deeper way. I fell in love with the field of art therapy, which for me combined the healing power of creativity with compassionate engagement in therapeutic relationship.
I am currently an Art Therapist at my private practice, Open Mind Holistics. I am trained in both art therapy and traditional psychotherapy, and blend transpersonal, humanistic, existential, and mindfulness-based approaches. In my free time, I love painting, learning to play the fiddle, and hiking with my husband and puppy.
